What we're doing to make a difference:

As the sole emergency ambulance service provider for Greater Wellington, WFA provides high quality clinical care in emergency medical and accident situations, pre-hospital care, treat-at-home care, rescue and transport services. If you live in greater Wellington and call 111 for an ambulance in an emergency, it's Wellington Free Ambulances that comes to your aid.

Our track record:

WFA assists more than 130 people each day on average - this works out to be about 1 in every 10 people living in greater Wellington that needs our help, and 48,000 people per year.

Rob and Matt's 70k run 4 Wellington Free Ambulance

On 2nd April, Rob and Matt will run SEVENTY kilometers, with over 1500m of ascent across the Rimutaka ranges and back around Wellington's south coast to raise money for WFA's Rescue squad. Rob’s training techniques (a mixture of resistance and cardiovascular) prove it’s feasible to complete an ultramarathon on no more than 6 hours of training a week.

Help us build the Wgtn Regional Ambulance Station

Construction will begin shortly on the new Wellington Regional Ambulance Station, with a strong focus on cost-efficiency and eco-friendliness, and is expected to be operational by the end of the year. The facility will be home to frontline and patient transfer ambulances and their paramedic crews, with its location a key factor in WFA making the decision to build.

Raise funds for our Rescue Squad

WFA maintains its own specially trained Rescue squad. This squad works closely with Police Search and Rescue and is used for any situation where patient recovery requires four wheel driving, rope or winching techniques. The squad responds to anything from off road car crashes, to construction site rescues, boats swept onto rocks and tramping search and rescue missions.
